Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of OriginalXG at originalxg.com ("the Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. Who We Are

OriginalXG ("we", "us", "our") is a statistical football prediction site providing xG-based match predictions, analysis, and related content. We're based in the United Kingdom.

2. What the Service Provides

OriginalXG provides:

  • Free football match predictions for the top 5 European leagues
  • Accuracy statistics and transparent performance tracking
  • Editorial blog content
  • A paid subscription tier ("Premium") with additional features including top picks, value bets, probability percentages, early access, and other benefits as described on our pricing page

3. Not Gambling Advice

This is the most important thing on this page. Read it carefully.

OriginalXG is a statistical analysis service. Our predictions are mathematical estimates based on historical data — not tips, not recommendations, and not gambling advice.

Any references to bookmaker odds, implied probabilities, or "value bets" are mathematical observations about where our model disagrees with market pricing. They are not suggestions that you place any bet.

No prediction model is guaranteed to make money. Past performance does not guarantee future results. If you choose to gamble, you do so entirely at your own risk and under your own judgment.

You must be 18 or over to use any content that references odds or betting markets. If you have concerns about gambling, please visit BeGambleAware.org.

4. Accounts

To access Premium features, you need an account. When you create one:

  • You must provide accurate information.
  • You're responsible for keeping your login secure. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
  • You must be at least 18.
  • We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

Our Premium subscription is billed monthly or annually, at the prices shown on the pricing page. All prices are in GBP and include VAT where applicable.

  • Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise Stripe to charge your chosen payment method on the agreed schedule.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
  • You can cancel any time from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep access until then.
  • If payment fails, we may pause Premium access until payment succeeds.

6. Refunds

Under UK consumer law, you have a 14-day right to cancel after signing up to a new subscription and receive a full refund, provided you have not significantly used the Service during that period. If you have used the Service, we may deduct a proportionate amount for usage.

After 14 days, subscriptions are non-refundable for the current billing period, but you can cancel to stop future charges. We may issue refunds at our discretion for genuine billing errors or extended Service outages.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, copy, or republish our content at scale without written permission
  • Share your account credentials or resell access to Premium features
  • Attempt to access the Service through unauthorised means (bots, credential stuffing, etc.)
  • Use the Service in any way that breaks the law or infringes third-party rights
  • Reverse-engineer, disassemble, or tamper with our systems

8. Intellectual Property

All content on OriginalXG — including predictions, analysis, blog articles, data visualisations, branding, and design — is owned by us or licensed from third parties (e.g. Understat for xG data, Football-Data.co.uk for historical odds).

You're granted a limited, non-transferable licence to view and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes while your access lasts.

9. Third-Party Data & Availability

Our predictions depend on data from third-party providers (Understat, The Odds API, and others). If those sources are unavailable, delayed, or inaccurate, our predictions may be affected. We do our best to maintain a reliable Service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability or the accuracy of third-party data.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
  • We're not liable for any gambling losses, missed opportunities, or decisions you make based on our content.
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or anything else that cannot be lawfully limited.

11. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, commit fraud, or if we cease operating the Service. If we terminate your account without cause mid-subscription, we'll refund the unused portion.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email to account holders at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
